Aarushi case: Court issues bailable warrant against Talwars

Mon, 28th Feb 2011

Ghaziabad: A Ghaziabad court has issued bailable warrants of Rs 20,000 each against the Talwars, who are accused of murdering their 13-year-old daughter Aarushi and their servant Hemraj.

The next hearing for the case has been posted to March 22. The court also rejected their applications for exemption from personal appearance for the hearing.

Earlier on February 9, the Aarushi Talwar murder case took a dramatic turnaround with the special Central Bureau of Investigation CBI court in Ghaziabad accusing the Talwars’ of killing their daughter, and charging them under Sections 302, 201 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The CBI has been arguing in court that it should be allowed to close its investigation into the Aarushi case because it has not found enough evidence to charge anyone with her murder. However, the agency has listed her father Rajesh Talwar as its only suspect.

Aarushi, 14, was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in her parents’ Jalvayu Vihar apartment in Noida, May 16, 2008. Their domestic help Hemraj’s body was found on the flat’s terrace a day later.
